United States win Cities War World Cup; Updates on Sports

After a surprising Round of 16 and Quarterfinals, we have the new holder of the CW World Cup: the United States.

After difficult trajectories, the United States ultimately beat Russia on a 4-1 final which brought them the cup.

Match Details

The match started with a corner kick sent by Rufus Sanders (a rightback from new team CC Mega Team), which got headed in by Henry Stickmin of NSTC Tigers. Then the rest of the half went difficult until extra-time, where Mono (BakaBento) broke in the defense line of the Russians and scored on the left corner of the goal. This was a half where Henry Stickmin showed up pretty well.

On the second half, the difficult defensive lines got broken constantly. It saw Landon going into the penalty box, shoving a pass to d0gma, who shoved it in the top right corner of the goal. The next minute, the defensive line (Red) shot up the sky, with Pooassbro getting the pass and shooting from long distance to goal. However, this would get even with Landon receiving a pass from the defensive line (Minecracker) and putting in the header to shoot to the middle. Landon pretty much owned this half.

• This would make Henry Stickmin join Josey XII as second top-goalscorer of the US after XD1221, who scored a hat trick in the Round of 16 against Uruguay, and a goal in the semi-finals against the Netherlands.

• This would be d0gma's first and only goal of the competition. This would also be d0gma's first debuted goal, as her league debut would be coming up tomorrow (in Another Name FC, King of Yeet's team).

• This was Mono's first goal in the competition, as he is to be promoted to Albanians United from the youth team after a sudden rise in skills.

• Landon, Henry Stickmin, Josey, Black Wolf, and 99rep are part of WC Team of the Year.

Reactions are mostly negative as people have considered cringe that the USA wins a cup, but it's a Cities War - styled cup.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands received 3rd place as they beat Belgium 1-0 in an otherwise very tough and difficult match. We saw Muffin cry a tear on the field- and it wasn't funny- as he was being substituted in the last 6 minutes of the match.

M. Depay (Netherlands) from Barcelona wins the FIFA Boot, while De Bruyne (Belgium) from Manchester City wins the FIFA Playmaker Award.

The next cup will be after the 8th season, and the host will be whoever wins the FIFA World Cup (in real life).

Cities War Trading Cards League

The league's 2nd edition continues as the tournament still has 2 days to close. Team Anzee is ahead by a lot, having as 2x much of points as Team Josey, who is far above the other teams. The score is yet to be updated today. Here is the score.

Cities War Football League

After the close of the Cities War World Cup, the Cities War Football League announced the 5th season to start on the 15th of December (2pm-5pm EST). This time has a few changes, seeing the entrance of Another Name FC, CC Mega Team, and Union Berlin. This while the Beliebers merged into Vietnam to become VN United, effectively ending The Beliebers brand in the league. Sponsor and player contracts have been extended until the end of this season, as things have gotten difficult to handle. This exempts those players that have done exceptional (86+) and had to be promoted.
