CW Football (Soccer) Fantasy League

Many people were confused about the world cup news and thought it referred to made up teams. Well, now it's here. Here are the basics:

Teams

Teams are made-up, so to add a team to the league, you just need to suggest the team in the #Team-Suggestion thread and we will add it to the league. CWNews is also available for team entries. For May, you can also suggest in Cities War world chat or private message.

Players

To have good teams, you have to have good players. There are 2 ways to get players: creating and importing.

Creating

For creation, certain information needs to be added to the player. Here is an example:

The OVR is the overall rating, an average of the ratings that follow OVR.

F is for Finishing, generally means scoring goals from close to goal, often from a cross or through creative play.

PE is for Penalties, PA is for Passing, J is for jumping (good for corners), H is for Heading

C is for Crossing, a medium-to-long range pass from a wide position to a central attacking area.

Positions are the following:

Position Definitions

RWB, LWB: Right or Left Wingback

CB, LB, RB: Central, Left, or Right Back

CDM: Central Defensive Midfielder

CM, LM, RM: Central, Left, or Right Midfielder

CAM: Central Attacking Midfielder

LF, CF, RF: Left, Central, or Right Forward

RW, LW, ST: Left winger, Right winger, or Striker

A striker is more attacker than central forward and deeper, but both are attackers.

A Right or Left Back is more deep in defense than the Right or Left Wingback, because the wingback are helpful in crossings from sides to center, so are more divided between attack and defense than the actual left/right back.

Here are some catches:

Creating Player Ratings

1 player can be above 93

2 can be between 90-93

5 can be between 85-89

7 can be between 80-84

and the rest can be below 80

Player ratings within the range paid for will be decided by the randomizer. For example, if you paid within the 90-93 range, a randomizer will decide whether the overall rating will be 90, 91, 92, or 93. The top most rating a player can get is 97 (except Raul, he's 99).

Importing

This is different from creating, its importing real life players (like Messi) to your team. Here are the basics:

All teams will start with an importing budget of 500M. Importing players will cost depending on the rating.

Importing Costs

Players imported higher than the 90 rating will be 200M

Players in the 85-90 will be 120M

Players in the 80-84 will be 90M

players in the 75-79 will be 40M

All under 75 will be 20M

So for example, Messi has a 93 rating, so he costs 200M.

League

There will be warm up matches throughout May, but the league will start in August (because head of CWFFL, Drk, be gone for the summer, maybe conditions change). Teams will be added to the league, as soon as it can. Players will take more time.

Each season will be monthly, and the player market will later be implemented once the league gets stronger. Alliances can have multiple teams.
