State of the World Report - December 30, 2022

This would be the last report of 2022, with events such as POTY and the football league ending.

And this is the mugshot of the Player of the Year 2022: Furinick. He wins by one vote, beating Toilet Leader in what has been a very big (at least 120 votes) and controversial vote (due to the amount of votes). There may be a VERY BIG debate on who deserves it more, but no doubt both of them deserve the award at some point.

Details on both contestants:

• Furinick took leadership from bo after V collapsed, and remained in East Europe until merging Ginebra into V (the merge being called Roma). It was the top stable alliance for about 3 months until a coalition of unhappy alliances brought it down. He did make a route server, and is the owner of VNews.

• Toilet Leader has been a prominent figure, taking moderatorship days after ReedyTurnip got demodded, and becoming one of the game's only city and route approvers. He has made the Cities Discord server, where willy is on.

Rivalries

Rivalries are common contests, until someone makes it serious. A few weeks ago, bo and Deci battled 1v1 and made around at least 3000 medals on the rivalry. bo would win rivalry and the medals tournament.

BBC, GBC, and TC

The difference between Roma and BBC is this: one was disbanded due to a massive invasion of unhappy alliances. The other (BBC) was disbanded by the emperor himself (Josey), making BBC2 return to its previous name Terceiro Commando. It was a short period of reign with a peculiar ending.

Yesterday was the sad news of the passing away of football legend Pelé. The majority consider him to be the GOAT of football (soccer). Rest in peace, Pelé. Obrigado, Rei.

And for tribute, NSTC TIgers have bought the icon Pelé.

Cities War Football League

Talking about football, the CWFL season has ended earlier, with some upsets. The battle of the Top 3 teams for the league title was thought to be won by Albanians United. This until getting locked into a tie by The Doggers (1-1), enabling Manchester City to beat Albanians United for the title by goal difference. This was close to being the first season where 3 different teams would win the 3 competitions. BigCAS won the Champions League with an easy win over Poughkeepsie United, who otherwise had an amazing turnout arriving to 2 competition finals.

With Manchester City winning the league and Cup of War, 2 have been nominated to the Ballon d'Or: Joaquin and Condom. There was also a big turnout of Mono in his first season.

Many changes are coming to the league next season, therefore rewards haven't been announced yet. An explainer article about the league is coming soon.
