State of the World Report - 12/16/2022

Lately, there's been a lot going on with a new Cities War update, the Trading Cards league tournament ending, and Player of the Year votes. This is why the SotW Report now, very early than expected.

New Cities War Update - New Noob Server?

Yes, the update is that there is a new separate server for noobs. Here's the Reddit post (quoting):

Cities War Updates - December 16, 2022 - New Players Server

Players with level < 9 will log into the new server, the main server still keeps the data. In the new server, the alliance rivalry and tournament are removed, and can't request new cities and routes. Once a new player reaches level 9, will automatically upgrade to the main server the next time login. In the main server, the protection for players < level 5 is removed.

What does this mean? Basically there is a new noob server, where new players and low-level alts kill each other in little battles and spam and rage in their chat. This while we conserve our own privileged chat with good wars and civilized higher class players on the main server. We have the most fun on our server.

1. We don't have the same chat anymore, as chats have been separated. 2 low-levels were in the chat, but were banned by willy as alts.

2. Since the armies of the noobs are left over on our server and the protection has been removed, we can kill the leftovers for % and loot.

3. This may mean there won't be placeholders (:|), and alliance recruiting will be harder to do on the main server.

4. Alt empires can be created in the noob server. You never know.

There were good reactions to this, however not all were good.

In any case, this update was a big and unexpected upgrade, a measure that was made to stop the high class from getting annoyed by altitude.

Cities War Player of The Year 2022 Semi-final Vote

12 players have advanced from the 6 polls to the POTY22 semi-final votes. Here are the groups:

Poll 2: BigALL, Anzee, DIYSlinky, ReedyTurnip, Furinick, goodnames679 (Link to Poll 2)

These polls include the 12 players who advanced from the first set of votes, the highest voted players from these 2 polls will advance to the POTY 2022 final. If players draw, a new vote will be made to decide the winner. VOTE NOW, as the polls will close in less than 3 DAYS.

Cities War Trading Cards League & 10 Members Top Cities Tournament

Here are the results from the tournament:

Cities War Football League

Season 5 shines with the debut of Another Name FC, Union Berlin, and CC Mega Team. They have played comfortably, as they're right now in the 15th, 14th, and 11th position (respectively). BigCAS has a close lead, followed by Albanians United and Autumnal FC. VN United have benefited a lot from the merge, as they follow the previous teams in 4th position. None of the teams have a straight win streak, nor a loss streak (except Pouthkeepsie and UER Geese).
