CWNews Easter Special Report

Many events have shaken the Cities War World, from alliance wars to CW teleportation efforts. This report is a summary of the latest events in April, mostly the important and recent ones.
Ginebra-TR War & TR Migration to Sakura
The Ginebra-TR is a war being battled between the Spanish Catalan Ginebrans and The Resistance European Revolutionaries. The war between the monarchy and the revolutionaries started a few (about 2) weeks ago when the Catalan king and the nobles directed attacks against The Resistance's border points and strongholds, and in several days was able to capture the capitals of it (several times) and the sister alliance Gaynebra. It had gotten to the point where The Resistance had been wiped out and had 0 cities. Then The Resistance rose and resisted, attacking the border points of the new-expanded Kingdom of Ginebra (created by the Geneva Convention) several times, but failing to capture the royal capital. Due to its sudden fall, Overcooked_Muffin decided to migrate to The Sakura Pact to continue his revolutionary activities and surrendered leadership to Cal (Bong Diddy). After this act, others (like Toilet Leader, tostOS, and Cal) decided to leave The Resistance as well and migrated to Sakura. No official announcement has been known concerning a merge between Sakura and The Resistance.
Monument Spam: Sir Nils Olav vs. Boyasiz
The Spanish Catalan Kingdom of Ginebra also does not have good relations with the Sakuran Empire (The Sakura Pact). So the N noble Boyasiz decided to make an expedition to California and fight Sir Nils Olav. Boyasiz is ex-501 Legion (Arabian alliance alleged by some to be a terrorist organization) and Sir Nils Olav is ex-NSTC (Sulawesian alliance killed by 501 in 501st Legion-NSTC War). The fight between the 2 occured in the Californian tops of San Jose, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Their fight was so intense that it caused a spam in world chat of 15 monuments, 10 of them in San Francisco. Details are in our latest article. As of now, Sir Nils Olav retains San Jose and Los Angeles but lost San Francisco to Boyasiz just a few hours ago.
UPDATE: Boyasiz established 3 more monuments in San Francisco.
Mod Poll Results As Of Now
A mod approval poll was conducted last week to rate moderators. The mod poll will be closing tomorrow April 21st at 5pm (US Eastern Time). But as of now, we can see some details:
- ReedyTurnip has an approval rating of 18% (33 votes). 81% of the Cities War community have expressed their desire to remove ReedyTurnip from moderatorship.
- In terms of approval rating, Toilet Leader and goodnames679 are tied with 90% approval rating. In terms of favorite moderator all-time, Toilet Leader tops the list with 38%.
- There is no popular support for tubularTOUCAN, as 81% disagree with tubularTOUCAN being reinstated as a moderator.
- Arradj and Qaz are tied in support to be moderators with 54%.
In the Reddit poll that ended 3 days ago and polled people on ReedyTurnip, these were the results (42 votes):
- 69% said Reedy was a bad mod
- 17% said Reedy was a good mod
- 14% preferred not to vote on either of the above
What is Beliebing? Series
CWNews has been conducting a miniseries to investigate the Belieb religion, found by many to be "a meme cult that praises the cringe racist Justin Bieber" as they say. Many aspects have been revealed throughout the series, from having a cult spectrum to confirmation of Toucan himself that The BELIEBers is a cult that seeks converts.

New Servers
Many servers have been made these days for several purposes, ranging from moderator discontent to Cities War Advertisement.
Mods are Gay Movement - This server was created to riot and protest against the moderators, especially with the increasing mod power grip from ReedyTurnip.
City Suggesting Server - This server was created to suggest cities on Discord (like city lists), take track of accepted cities, etc.
/r/ place Reddit Project - "This server is related to the CitiesWar r/place project. This project is dedicated to creating a block on the 2022 r/place grid to show the reddit community the wonderful game that we play." - Mono (Bakabento)
El Filipe had announced he would do a podcast, but the effort resulted in Shitties News Server, whose news are connected to the TR Gaming server.
Alliance Interest Rates: Opinion
Alliance Interest Rates have gone down in time since the Banking update not long ago. Originally, it was at 0.21% but now the interest rate is at 0.10%. You would look at the fact that the update was just last month and the interest rate decreased by 0.11%.
Many analysts project the interest rate to go negative around June, near the Cities War anniversary. Other believe it would be later in July or August because of a save. And most are pessimistic and believe it would be in May because of the rapid decrease in interest rate. When it's going is the debate, but that the interest rate will go negative, there's almost no doubt.
Behind the Newswork
CWNews (created a month ago) has developed into a big news source trying to lighten the spirits of those that view the Cities War world as a dead game. In fact, it has brought up the project of increasing teleportation from the real world to the Cities War world. In what has the News source expanded?
- Discord Server expansion: Originally putting out CWNews headlines only as an attempt to popularize in a time where spirits are short, it has grown into a big server which integrates news of all CW News Agencies (including CWNews), therefore giving you news in a plate (or a server). News agencies like Avocado News have revived, and others like Racism News were created. We believe in free expression of information even when we don't agree with it. - Writers: In the month of March (our opening) we were excited and welcomed 6 more CWNews writers to the crew: Anzee, Neko49, Arradj, balleater45, Deci, and Filip. The excitement for news articles was great and so many articles were created. We now have a count of 57 posts. We wanted to keep the principles of 1 player per alliance, but viewing the decrease in News Input it has been decided to increase that limit to 2 players per alliance to keep the News Source from being very unbalanced. However, we know this won't be much as we also support the New News Agencies that are being created to give their own view of events in Cities War. However, if you want to join and give news articles (unbiased, besides opinion articles) in name of CWNews, you are welcome to contact the editor-in-chief, Drk.
- Multilingual Trailers - Viewing the necessity for a big playerbase, CWNews begun a project based in Bergen to make Cities War trailers in multiple languages. This to attract gamers from around the world to teleport from the real world to the Cities War World. These would be published by the Cities War players on many fronts, including YouTube. So the project videos are in place. But then came the next project...
- Cities War YouTube Channel - In face of a suggestion of Romanian Ginebran BigAll to first present the English trailer for Cities War, a new YouTube channel went under creation. There were many obstacles in channel creation (including Google's annoying phone verification), so in the end, it was decided to use an old channel (was personal) and transform it into the new Cities War YouTube channel. As you can see, the CWNews is encompassing more than news, also trying to increase the player base of Cities War, one of many efforts to do so.
