When ginebra was killing the remanants of The Resistance they had to abandon the last holdings in South America like São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Seeing this a combined force of 2000 Orientals and Argentines accompanied with some Paraguayan slaves leaded by Alau marched to take all Uruguayan land. The force kept moving up to São Paulo where they could connect a border after capturing the small fort at Florianópolis. Seeing the success of this Alau decided to move a small force to take the Amazon, The border was now pushed to Rio de Janeiro.
